The Pieniny Road is a red trail located along the shore of the picturesque Dunajec Gorge, connecting Szczawnica with Červený Kláštor in Slovakia. Formerly called a “”test of character””, until 2019 it was the last 9 kilometers of the course Niepokorny Mnich (96 km).
The Pieniny Road won in the 2021 contest Tourist Treasures of Małopolska in the category ‘The Most Interesting Tourist Route’. This is one of the most beautiful places which is definitely worth visiting when you are in Szczawnica.
You can cover the route:
- by land: by bike or on foot from Szczawnica to Červený Kláštor (and back)
- by water – on the Dunajec River – during a trip on a traditional raft, kayak or pontoon.
Each option has its own unique advantages! Each one will certainly show you the charms of this place.
