Pieniny Ultra-Trail® will be held on April 19-21, 2024 in Szczawnica, Poland.

The presented participant limits are not equivalent to the number of packages produced. If the registration limit is not reached on a given route by April 8, 2024, the Organizer will decide on the remaining number of available packages.

  • The competition may be attended by any adult participant who: registers to the race using the application form, accepts the regulations of the event along with statements regarding the protection and processing of personal data, the use of the image and the lack of medical contraindications to participate in the event, and pays the entry fee .
  • The competition is also open to participants aged 16-17, who are required to have permission to participate in the competition from their parents or legal guardians, with their signature and PESEL number. The condition for allowing them to start is the presence of a parent or guardian together with an ID card at the time of verification of the participant in the competition office. 
  • Applications may be submitted electronically at www.zapisy.strefaprzygod.pl.
  • To sign up for a selected run, create a participant’s account, log in and choose a specific course by clicking “sign up” and filling in additional data (eg. type of post-race meal).
  • During registration, the participant is responsible for providing the correct e-mail address and telephone number for communication with the participant before and during the competition, as well as other data (name, surname, club, city, date of birth).
  • After registering the application, the participant’s data (name, surname, city and club) will be automatically published on the start list on the website www.pieninyultratrail.pl in the Start lists tab.
  • Only full application and payment of the entry fee to the account specified in these regulations and on the website of the competition are counted. Confirmation of registration is the appearance of the competitor on the start list on the website www.pieninyultratrail.pl, as well as a message sent to the e-mail address provided during registration.
  • The entry fee is not valid if the participant is not registered electronically, if it was made after the deadline or if it is paid after the limit of places has been reached.
  • At each run, after reaching the limit of places, registration will be automatically opened for the waiting list, limited to 50 places for a given run.
  • If the application limit for a given race is reached, all registered participants without paid entry fee will be informed by e-mail about the necessity to make a payment within 5 days to confirm participation in the competition. After this date, unpaid applications will be removed and their place will be taken by participants from the waiting list. After deleting an application, it is possible to re-register, but a new application will end up at the end of the waiting list.
  • In the event of a transfer from the waiting list to the main list, the participant will be informed by e-mail to the e-mail address provided during registration.
  • Start of registration for all courses: November 7, 2023 at 8 pm

As part of the packages, we provide participants of the competition with:

  • accident insurance;
  • buffets on the route according to the information provided on the competition website. Detailed information of the buffets will be published in the technical brochure no later than 10 days before the start of the competition;
  • buffet at the finish line;
  • bib number and electronic time measurement chip;
  • a map with the route of the run;
  • 30-liter bag for a deposit at the finish line;
  • additional 30-liter bag for a deposit on the route (applies only to Niepokorny Mnich);
  • additional 30 l bag for a deposit at the start line (applies only to Lubań Vertical);
  • electronic time measurement;
  • souvenir medals for participants who finish the race;
  • awards and statuettes for the best competitors on individual routes;
  • medical protection and mountain rescue protection;
  • transport to the start of the competition from Szczawnica to Jaworki (applies only to Hardy Rolling and Chyża Durbaszka distances);
  • transport to the start of the competition from Szczawnica to Tylmanowa and after leaving Lubań back to Szczawnica (applies to the Lubań Vertical route);
  • route marking.

  • Participants born in 1958 or earlier are granted a 50% discount on the entry fee.
  • Participants starting in more than one run receive a discount for the second and subsequent entry fees in the amount of EURO 6,75.
  • The starter pack of runners participating in more than one run will contain one copy of duplicate elements, such as a map.

Elite athletes may register to take part in the competition on preferential terms, in accordance with the rules below.

Free participation at any course:

  • First place competitors from any distance from the previous (2023) edition.
  • Male competitors with an ITRA ranking of more than or equal to 800 points.
  • Female competitors with an ITRA ranking of more than or equal to 700 points.

Participation with a 50% discount on the entry fee:

  • Competitors ranked 2nd and 3rd from any distance from the previous (2023) edition.

Participation with the lowest entry fee, but without the need to register by one of the registration deadlines:

  • Male competitors with an ITRA ranking of more than or equal to 750 points.
  • Female competitors with an ITRA ranking higher than or equal to 640 points.
  • Competitors not classified in the ITRA ranking, but with good running results in the last 3 years.

 

  • A competitor who wants to take advantage of preferential conditions of participation must first register his or her account on the website: www.zapisy.strefaprzygod.pl or check the correctness of the existing data, and then write an e-mail to the following address: info@pieninyultratrail.pl
  • Participation in the event is possible ONLY if there are still free starting packages in the organizer’s additional pool for given race.

The refund of the entry fee upon early resignation from the start and effective notification of the Organizer is possible under the following conditions:

  • in case of resignation from the start by January 31, 2024, the amount of paid entry fee will be refunded with the handling fee of PLN 5,
  • in case of resignation from the start between February 1 and February 29, 2024, 50% of the fee paid will be refunded,
  • resignation after February 29, 2024, during the race or failure to appear at the start of the competition does not entitle to a refund of the entry fee,
  • until April 12, 2024, the participant may transfer his entry fee to another person (the person to whom the package is being transferred should register in the registration system, while the person who resigns should send the data of both participants (first names, surnames, e-mail addresses) and the distance to which the application relates) to the following address: info@pieninyultratrail.pl),
  • after April 12, 2024, transferring the entry fee to another person is only possible at the competition office, the person giving up the package should complete the appropriate authorization available for download on the competition website, send it by e-mail to the following address: info@pieninyultratrail.pl, and the person taking over the package should come to the competition office to complete the formalities (acceptance of the required declarations, replacement of data on the starting list),
  • transferring the package to another person is free of charge, and after transferred is made, it is also possible to change the distance – see point 12,
  • the Organizer does not refund the entry fee to participants who have not completed the competition or did not take part in the competition, and does not transfer the entry fee to other / subsequent competitions.
  • Detailed procedures and authorization documents are available on the website of the competition.
  • The organizer allows the possibility of changing the previously declared distance by the participant. Each time such a decision is made by the Organizer individually and depending on the availability of packages for a given distance.
  • In the case of transferring to a longer distance, the participant should pay the difference in entry fee between the distances (the difference is calculated on the basis of the date of the original payment).
  • In the case of transferring to a shorter distance, the Organizer will refund the difference in the entry fee according to the refund schedule:
    • until January 31, 2024, the difference in entry fee between the distances will be refunded with the handling fee of PLN 5,
    • from February 1 to February 29, 2024, 50% of the difference in entry fee between distances will be refunded,
    • reporting a change after February 29, 2024 does not entitle to a refund of the difference in entry fee between the distances.
  • All participants taking part in the competition must be verified at the Competition Office.
  • Verification at the Competition Office can be made:
    • in person – on the basis of an ID with a photo;
    • by an authorized person – on the basis of a declaration signed by the participant (to be downloaded from the website).
  • At the Competition Office, participants receive starter packages, including, among others: bib number, time measurement chip, safety pins, map with running routes, information magazine.
  • Starter packages can be picked up during the Competition Office’s opening hours in accordance with the schedule published on the competition website. Packages not collected at the Competition Office will not be sent or issued at a later date.

 

  • Each participant will receive a bib number and a chip at the Competition Office.
  • Throughout the competition, participants are required to have the bib number placed at the front, in a place visible to the judges and a chip attached to the shoe – a different placement of the chip does not guarantee correct reading by the measuring system, which may lead to disqualification or incorrect time measurement of the participant.
  • There are time limits for each run, exceeding which will result in disqualification of a participant.
  • Limits are as follows:
    • Lubań Vertical: 2,5 hours.
    • Hardy Rolling: 3 hours.
    • Chyża Durbaszka: 5 hours.
    • Żwawe Wierchy: 8 hours.
    • Wielka Prehyba: 9 hours.
    • Dziki Groń: 14 hours.
    • Niepokorny Mnich: 19 hours.

 

  • On the Dziki Groń route, intermediate limits have been established, exceeding which will result in disqualification of the participant:
    • Bacówka na Obidzy (44,7 km) – 10 h (4:00 pm)
    • Schronisko pod Durbaszką (56,1 km) – 12 h 30 min (6:30 pm)

 

  • On the Niepokorny Mnich route, intermediate limits have been established, exceeding which will result in disqualification of the participant:
  • Bacówka na Obidzy (75,5 km) – 15 h (4:00 p.m.)
  • Schronisko pod Durbaszka (86,9 km) – 17 h 30 min (6:30 pm)
  • After the time limit expires, the participant is not classified and does not take part in the rest of the race. It is also not possible to continue the race without the bib number, on the so-called “own responsibility” or “out of classification”.
  • There will be nutrition points along the route. The exact list of points is available on the website: www.pieninyultratrail.pl in the Courses tab.
  • A detailed schedule of the hours of operation of the nutrition points will be made available in the technical statement provided to the participants before the competition.
  • Participants will be able to use the buffets available at the nutrition points.
  • In addition to nutrition points, participants will be able to use the shelters on the route on their own.
  • The catering area at the finish line: only participants of the competition can use the buffets located at the finish line. Entry to the catering area at the finish line will only be possible upon presentation of the bib number. A hot meal at the finish line will be issued only upon presentation of the bib number. The buffet at the finish line is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on the day of the competition (April 20, 2024). It is not possible to use the buffet at the finish line outside the designated hours. The buffet for participants of the Lubań Vertical route will be open on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 18:00 to 20:00. The buffet is located next to the Competition Office in Szczawnica.
  • With the exception of short fragments, most of the routes have been led along mountain hiking trails.
  • The route, in addition to the trail markings, will be additionally marked by the Organizer. Details of the marking of the route will be provided in the technical statement.
  • Any changes to the final route will be published in the technical statement.
  • During the entire competition, participant should only move along the route indicated by the Organizer.

 

  • Organized help from third parties (support) is allowed in the zones of nutritional points. Any organized assistance during the race outside the designated zones is not allowed. Competitors using an organized support outside of nutritional points will be punished with disqualification.
  • The organizer allows the help of third parties on the route in cases where it is spontaneous help, eg by another competitor or a gesture of hospitality of the inhabitants of the towns through which the participants pass, as well as people met on the trails.
  • Any activities that may affect the beauty of the natural areas through which the routes run are forbidden, especially: abandoning rubbish, destroying vegetation, disturbing the silence in the vicinity of the reserves, burning fires, etc.
  • All rubbish should be left at the nutritional points or carried to the finish line.
  • Participants who break the applicable environmental protection rules during the event will be disqualified.
  • Due to the route running through the reserve and pastoral lands, it is forbidden to run with a dog.
  • To care for the natural environment, we do not provide disposable cups at the nutritional points, each participant should have their own cup (mug, water bottle, flask, etc.) in order to use the drinks at the nutritional points.
  • It is forbidden to leave valuables (phones, documents) in deposits.
  • The organizer draws the participants’ attention to the multitude of dangers and threats resulting from participation in a sports event, related to high physical effort, which may include, among others, a risk of loss of life and health. The organizer recommends that prior to the start of preparations for the competition and during the preparations, appropriate medical examinations or medical consultations should be carried out, depending on the age and physical condition of the participant.
  • The organizer is insured against civil liability towards competition participants.
  • The organizer provides participants with accident insurance.
  • The organizer does not provide any life, health or civil liability insurance for illness, accident, injury, death or any loss or damage that may occur in connection with the presence or participation in the competition.
  • The condition for participation in the competition is the authorization of the medical and paramedical personnel employed on behalf of the Organizer to provide first aid or perform other medical procedures, as well as transport the injured participant to a safe place.
  • Medical services or the Organizer of the competition may prohibit a participant from continuing the race if there is a suspicion of a poor health condition that may threaten the participant’s life or health.
  • By accepting these Regulations, the participant confirms that participation in the competition involves physical effort and entails a natural risk and risk of accidents, the possibility of bodily injuries and physical injuries (including death). Providing the Organizer with a correctly completed registration form and paying the entry fee means that the participant considered and assessed the nature, scope and degree of risk related to participation in the competition and voluntarily decided to take this risk, participating in the competition solely at his own risk.
  • The condition for participation in the race is to have an appropriate and up-to-date medical examination allowing to start in the selected race or to accept a declaration regarding the health of the participant during registration and no contraindications to participate in the competition.
  • The mountain rescue groups: GOPR Podhalańska Group and GOPR Krynicka Group will watch over the safety of participants on the competition routes.
  • Regardless of the place of resignation, if a participant withdraws from the race during the competition, he is obliged to immediately inform the Organizer about it by telephone on the telephone number indicated on the participant’s bib number.
  • From selected nutritional points (Krościenko, Tylmanowa, Rytro, Kosarzyska, Bacówka na Obidzy), the organizer provides regular bus transport to the finish line.
  • Transport from other nutritional points or other places along the route takes place after individual arrangements with the coordinator of resignation (telephone number on the participant’s bib number).
  • Participants who do not immediately notify the Organizer of their resignation may be charged with the costs of an unjustified search and rescue action.
  • During the entire competition, each participant is required to have the obligatory equipment indicated for the route on which he is competing.
  • The equipment can be checked by the Organizer both before the start and at the finish line.
  • Lack of the obligatory equipment will result in a time penalty for the participant. The amount of the time penalty is 15 minutes for each missing piece of equipment. The time penalty will be added to the time the participant obtained at the finish line.

 

Lubań Vertical:

  • emergency blanket / NRC foil,

 

Hardy Rolling:

  • a water container to be used on the route and at nutritional points (a cup or water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.25 liter.

 

Chyża Durbaszka:

  • bib number (placed on the front in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming is recommended),
  • a water container to be used on the route and at nutritional points (a cup or water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.25 liter.

 

Żwawe Wierchy

  • bib number (placed on the front in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming is recommended),
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil
  • a water container to be used on the route and at nutritional points (a cup or water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.5 liter.

 

Wielka Prehyba:

  • bib number (placed on the front in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming is recommended),
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil
  • a water container to be used on the route and at nutritional points (a cup or water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 0.5 liter.

 

Dziki Groń:

  • bib number (placed on the front in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming is recommended),
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil,
  • a water container to be used on the route and at nutritional points (a cup or water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 1 liter.

 

Niepokorny Mnich:

  • bib number (placed on the front in such a way that it is always visible and readable) and the chip,
  • a mobile phone with a battery that works for at least several hours (roaming is recommended),
  • emergency blanket / NRC foil,
  • a water container to be used on the route and at nutritional points (a cup or water bottle or flask) with a total capacity of at least 1 liter.
  • headlamp / flashlight.

 

Recommended equipment:

  • clothing appropriate to the current weather,
  • a headlamp or a flashlight for the participants of Dziki Groń, especially in the case of participants who are taking part in the run for the first time or who estimate that they can fight to finish the run within the time limit,
  • a rain jacket (regardless of the expected weather),
  • personal first aid kit,
  • for those competing at Lubań Vertical, we recommend placing a drinking vessel in the deposit, which they will be able to use at the finish line (we do not provide disposable cups).
  • The deposit is released only upon presentation of the bib number.
  • All deposit bags must be collected from the deposit area by 8:30 pm on the day of the competition (April 20, 2024). Items unclaimed by participants during the competition will be handed over to the appropriate lost and found property office.

Żwawe Wierchy, Wielka Prehyba, Dziki Groń:

  • Each participant can prepare a deposit that will be waiting at the finish line of the competition. Deposit bags with stickers to mark the bag will be issued together with the package at the competition office. Deposits should left at the start of the competition in Szczawnica at the designated place.

Hardy Rolling, Chyża Durbaszka:

  • Each participant can prepare a deposit that will be waiting at the finish line of the competition. Deposit bags with stickers to mark the bag will be issued together with the package at the competition office. Deposits should left at the start of the competition in Jaworki at the designated place. All deposit bags will be transported to the finish line to Szczawnica.

Niepokorny Mnich:

  • Each participant receives two bags and two stickers to mark them at the competition office. Both bags should be deposited just before the start, the deposit bag at the finish line in the designated zone, and the deposit for the course directly into the prepared transport vehicle.
  • After the start of the race, the bags will be transported to the nutritional point in Rytro. The bags used by the participants will be successively transported to the finish line. The organizer reserves the right to deliver the bags as quickly as the logistic of the race allows. All bags will be available for collection in the deposit area at the finish line.

Lubań Vertical:

  • Each participant receives two bags and two stickers to mark them at the competition office.
    • Deposit 1 should be handed over at a designated place near the competition office in Szczawnica and it will be transported to the finish line at the summit of Lubań.
    • Deposit 2 should be handed over just before the start in Tylmanowa and it will be transported to Szczawnica to the main deposit zone.
  • The races are a sports competition.
  • The fastest women and the fastest men on each route will be awarded.
  • The following classifications will be held during the competition: open classification, open classification of women, open classification of men and age classifications of women and men.
  • Age classifications:
    • K20, M20: 16-29 years old,
    • K30, M30: 30-39 years old,
    • K40, M40: 40-49 years old,
    • K50, M50: 50-59 years old,
    • K60, M60: 60-69 years old,
    • K70, M70: 70+ years old.

 

  • The classification is based on electronic time measurement. There will be control mats on the route, as well as at the start and the finish line, which will record the appearance of the participant at a given point. Failure to read on a given point may result in disqualification of the participant.
  • The classification of the participant is based on gross times, counted from the start of the race until the chip is read at the finish line.
  • In the final results of the run, each participant receives information about the gross time.
  • Unofficial results of the race will be posted on the website www.pieninyultratrail.pl immediately after the race.
  • All participants who complete the Pieniny Ultra-Trail® will receive souvenir medals at the finish line.
  • The winners of places I – III in the women’s open and men’s open classifications will receive statuettes as well as material or financial prizes.
  • The winners of places I – III in age classifications will receive statuettes.
  • The organizer reserves the right to fund additional cash and material prizes in selected categories and classifications.
  • The condition for participation in the competition is the acceptance during registration of the relevant statement regarding the consent to use the participant’s image free of charge and the statement regarding the processing of the participant’s personal data.
  • The condition for participation in the competition is also the consent to the processing of the participant’s personal data provided in the application form by the personal data administrator within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act of May 10, 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), which is Fundacja Strefa Przygód with its registered office at Staw II 12/17, 62-420 Strzałkowo, for the purpose and to the extent necessary for the implementation of a sports event, including the publication of participant’s data on starting lists and results lists and sending the result of the participant to the telephone number provided during registration.
  • The participant has the right to request access to data, rectification, deletion or limitation of processing and to object to processing, as well as the right to transfer data. Providing personal data is voluntary, but necessary and necessary to participate in a sports event.
  • Participant’s data may be transferred to entities cooperating in the implementation of the event and related actions, on the basis of appropriate entrustment agreements.
  • Personal data will be kept for the period necessary to implement the event, details of storing specific data are specified in the Privacy Policy.
  • The participant has the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office when he considers that the processing of personal data concerning the participant violates the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 or the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018.
  • The administrator may process personal data in connection with the organization of the Pieniny Ultra-Trail® event also in cooperation with other people, eg volunteers, who carry out activities related to the organization and course of the event.
  • Details regarding the protection of the participant’s personal data are set out in the Privacy Policy.
  • The organizer accepts official protests regarding violation of the competition rules on the day of the competition – April 19, 2024 until 7:15 pm for Lubań Vertical and April 20, 2024 until 8:15 pm for other races. Protests brought after that time will not be considered.
  • The organizer accepts other protests, e.g. regarding the results are accepted until April 23, 2024 by the end of the day.
  • Final and official results will be published on April 24, 2024.
  • After April 24, 2024, the Organizer will not accept protests and will not make changes to the results lists.
  • Protests may be submitted by e-mail to the following address: info@pieninyultratrail.pl or in person at the competition office located at the finish line.
  • The organizer considers protests as soon as possible, max. within 48 hours.
  • All complaints, comments and requests regarding matters related to participation in the event may be submitted within 7 days from the date of its completion to the e-mail address info@pieninyultratrail.pl, with the annotation “Complaint”. The organizer considers complaints within 14 days from the date of their delivery.
  • Participants who want to receive an invoice for the paid entry fee should send the required data needed to issue the document by e-mail to the following address: info@pieninyultratrail.pl.
  • In accordance with applicable regulations, the invoice for the paid entry fee may be issued by the 15th day of the month following the month in which the payment was made.
  • In accordance with tax regulations, due to the payment made before the service is provided, an advance invoice will be issued for the full amount of the fee paid. Thus, the advance invoice is also the final invoice.
  • By accepting the Regulations, the participant agrees to send / share invoices without the recipient’s signature, in electronic form. This consent does not exclude the Organizer’s right to issue and send invoices in paper form.
  • The participants will be informed about any changes to the schedule of the competition or the courses before the start of the competition.
  • Violation of the Regulations may result in the imposition of a time penalty or disqualification of the participant. Each time such events will be individually considered by the Organizer.
  • During the competition, the Participants should follow the instructions issued by people responsible for security, law enforcement and other persons designated by the Organizer.
  • During the competition, participants will be forced to cross local and provincial roads. Each time such places will be supervised by the competition staff. The staff will be equipped with reflective vests. Participants are required to exercise extreme caution and strictly follow the instructions of the staff. It is forbidden to cross roads in places other than those indicated by the organizer.
  • The organizer provides participants with medical protection and mountain rescue protection. Medical points will be located at the nutritional points as well as at the start and finish line. In the event of an event posing a threat to health or life, participants should inform the Organizer about the event using the telephone number provided on the bib number.
  • Prior to the competition, a technical statement will be issued with detailed information on each course. The technical statement will be sent to all registered participants to the e-mail address provided by them in the registration form, and also posted on the competition website at least 10 days before the competition.

    • If, on the day of the competition, there will be restrictions on the organization of sports events, participants will be obliged to comply with all restrictions, orders and bans related to social distancing, covering the mouth and nose, disinfection and other valid on the day of collecting the package and the day of the competition. Any possible restrictions and information will be published closer to the competition date.
    • If, due to the applicable restrictions, it is not possible to organize the event, the date of the event will be changed, and participants with paid entry fees will be able to:
    1. a) take part in the event on the new date;
    2. b) submit a resignation within 14 days, entitling to a refund of 80% of the amount of the paid entry fee.
