EMPATON is an award for heartfelt mindfulness on the trails of Pieniny Ultra-Trail®, presented since 2022 at the initiative of the Fundacja Rak’n’Roll Wygraj Życie.
We all know the moving moments from race courses and finish lines when runners help each other through moments of difficulty and weakness. We know that such moments also happen on the Pieniny Ultra-Trail® routes. Sometimes help means stopping and asking the simple question, “”Do you need help?”” or providing support by calling the mountain rescue service (GOPR), and sometimes it means taking someone by the arm and walking slowly with them all the way to the finish line.
These are behaviors we want to nurture and reward. Above all, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for them!

This year, for the first time, we are introducing start zone markings based on the ITRA ranking.
The goal is to maintain a smoother start and flow during the first kilometers of our most popular routes. So, please pay attention to our signs in the start area and position yourself according to your rankings and/or estimated race times.
The ITRA ranking corresponds to a specific time for each distance, and the participant’s gender doesn’t matter here. We’ll also display exact times on our signs. If you’re unsure of your ranking, you can check it on itra.run. If you know you’re in better shape than your average ranking, move closer to the next zone. If you don’t have an ITRA ranking, simply estimate your finishing time and position yourself accordingly.
