EMPATON is an award for heartfelt mindfulness on the trails of Pieniny Ultra-Trail®, presented since 2022 at the initiative of the Rak’n’Roll Foundation.
We all know the moving moments from race courses and finish lines when runners help each other through moments of difficulty and weakness. We know that such moments also happen on the Pieniny Ultra-Trail® routes. Sometimes help means stopping and asking the simple question, “Do you need help?” or providing support by calling the mountain rescue service (GOPR), and sometimes it means taking someone by the arm and walking slowly with them all the way to the finish line.
These are behaviors we want to nurture and reward. Above all, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for them!
